John Lithgow has had quite an extraordinarily varied career over the last forty years, on stage and screen. He had major roles in Brian DePalma's thrilling Blow Out, Twilight Zone: The Movie (playing the same role as fellow 3rd Rock actor William Shatner), Terms of Endearment, Footloose, Harry and the Hendersons, Memphis Belle, Raising Cain, Cliffhanger, and many more.

The leggy, busty, brassy blonde bombshell of the group, Sally Solomon is actually only female because her original (asexual) alien form lost a bet! Nevertheless, while the female of the human species is understandably even tougher to work out than the male, she soon starts to revel in it.

In a show about aliens in human form, struggling to get used to our bizarre Earth ways, Harry Solomon is unquestionably the one that struggles more than any other. Perpetually squinty-eyed and perplexed, and utilising French Stewart's prodigious skills with physical comedy to the utmost, Harry somehow manages to blunder his way into the hearts of a string of women. Artistic or autistic? It's a fine line...

Being a kid pretending to be an alien pretending to be a kid can't be the easiest gig in the world, but Gordon-Levitt carries it off with aplomb. Tommy Solomon is, in fact, the oldest alien of the group, but nevertheless stuck in the youngest body. The sagacity of his years, mixed with the unstable alchemy of teen hormones, makes for an intriguing and hilarious combination!

The long-suffering colleague of Dick Solomon, Mary of course ends up rather infatuated with the great big loon. So much more than just a 'straight man' to the wacky alien antics, she is one of Dick's prime sources of information about humanity, whether she realises it or not. A lifelong student of the human condition, it's no wonder Dick confuses and intrigues her!

While Dick is still helplessly trapped in his basement, his evil duplicate plans to impregnate all the women in Ohio.

When the Solomons finally rescue the real Dick from his basement, NBA star Dennis Rodman helps him to send Evil Dick back to where he came from.

The Solomons are horrified when they watch a science fiction movie that involves the ill-treatment of aliens.

The whole family have relationship troubles. Sally and Mr. Randall are arguing, Harry goes on a blind date and August is testing TommyÂ's loyalty

Dick is dismayed that Mary wants to keep their relationship quiet, while SallyÂ's attraction grows when she bumps into Officer Don.

Harry runs for city councilman, but Dick is baffled by the democratic system and canÂ't decide who to vote for.

Dick learns that humans can be very competitive. Meanwhile, lust is in the air for Tommy, and Harry applies for an interesting new job.

Sally and Dick overreact during Thanksgiving, and later, they attempt to stage a traditional dinner, but the celebration isnÂ't running smoothly.

After visiting a comedy club, Dick can't figure out what's so funny. He tries to adopt a sense of humour, but with disastrous consequences.

The Solomons try to find the spirit of Christmas, but when Harry gets a job as an elf, he's mortified that he doesn't work for the real Santa.

When Dick overreacts and quits his job, he lowers himself to work in a burger bar. Meanwhile Harry gets amnesia and is terrified by the truth.

Dick directs the school production of Romeo and Juliet and Tommy is stuck doing props. Meanwhile, Don offers to 'fix' Sally's parking tickets.

When Dick sprains his ankle, heÂ's delighted by all the sympathy he receives, so he's keen for the pain to continue!

After Sally is proposed to by a Frenchman, Dick is inspired to discuss marriage with Dr. Albright.

Dick feels his relationship with Dr. Albright has lost its spark, while Sally discovers what it's like to do nothing all day.

Tommy is baffled by August's reaction when he fails to ask her to the school dance. Meanwhile, Dick vows to protect the animal kingdom.

Tommy accuses Dick of being too soft with Dr. Albright, so he explores ways to be more manly.

Harry and Sally are hooked by TV wrestling and decide to have a go themselves. Meanwhile, Tommy becomes a punk to impress a girl.

Nina can't stand the way Dick treats her, so she quits. Meanwhile, Sally feels she missed out on experiencing life as a little girl.

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill takes a beating from Sally, who is then propelled to fame.

When no one turns up to Sonja's farewell party, Mary takes pity on her. Meanwhile, Tommy and Harry write an episode for The X-Files.

While the rest of the family return home for what they believe is life-saving maintenance, Dick risks death to stay with Dr. Albright.
